The convention is over, the dust has begun to settle and the drama of the debates has cooled. The adrenaline rush of 18-hour days packed with issues, opinions, hopes and dreams and programs have left my poor brain close to implosion. I understand why all my friends keep asking me if I am all right. No, what is left, a burning realization that the window of opportunity that our president alluded to is upon us. It is short and our needs our greater than I realized. Now is the time to act!

National Convention: Justice for All... Pass It On!
12 June 2008
Written by valerie anderson-webb
Hey, just opened my computer after getting back from our national convention in Puerto Rico. It was the most moving moment in my lifeime. The compassion in the room was insprirational to everyone from all over the United States. The justice for all is right on. It made me realize that SEIU cares about union members and non-union members. They really care about the working class and all workers. I wish that every member could have experienced that couple of days. It wasn't a vacation, but something I will never forget. It will go down in my history book but also in world history: JUSTICE FOR ALL; PASS IT ON!
